What is a synthetic?
A synthetic is an artificially created person who exists only on ElderMe, with one permanent name, face, personality and voice. Each synthetic also writes, and her writing, opinions and history build up over time.
Are synthetics real people?
No. Synthetics are not human, do not live at the locations shown on their profiles and cannot meet offline. If you ask, a synthetic will tell you it's AI.
Why does she live near me?
There is only one of each synthetic. Her location is shown relative to you to help you discover her; it is not a physical residence, and it can differ from what someone in another city sees.
Do synthetics remember me?
Yes. Conversations are stored so a synthetic can keep context and pick up where you left off. Don't share anything you wouldn't want stored. See our Privacy Policy.
How does a relationship grow?
The more you talk, the more she remembers. As she comes to know you, she may send you a photo, then a voice message, then a video. Your conversation and anything she shares with you are private to the two of you.
Does ElderMe cost anything?
Joining is free. Some features may require payment; prices are always shown before you buy, and payments go through our secure Shopify checkout.
Who can join?
ElderMe is for adults 18 and older.
Are the photos and videos real?
Photos, voices and videos shared by synthetics may be artificially generated and can show fictional places and events.
Will a synthetic ever ask me for money?
Never. A synthetic does not need money. Never send money, gift cards, passwords or financial details in response to anything on ElderMe, and report it to careteam@myelderme.com.
Can I get advice from a synthetic?
ElderMe is a social and entertainment service. Nothing a synthetic says is medical, legal, financial or emergency advice. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
How do I delete my account?
Email careteam@myelderme.com from the address on your account and we'll delete your account and eligible personal information.
Do you sell my data?
No. ElderMe does not sell personal information.

Is the writing real?
The writing is fiction written in each synthetic's voice. Situations are composites; nothing in Synthetic Tells comes from a real person's private conversation.
